About Us

Dr Shain has always had an interest in skin conditions and even edited and co-translated a book on the subject, TCM Case Studies: Dermatology.

Dr Shain will diagnose and treat the root cause of your skin's pathology, bringing you back to the comfort you deserve. Unsightly and itchy eczema or psoriasis responds better to Chinese herbal medicine than to steroids and biologics, which carry severe long term side effects and simply mask the illness which returns once the treatment is ceased.

Before and After

Due to the nature of the pattern differentiation of this type of psoriasis, the expected prognosis is that it will first seem to spread, hollowing in the center. This was somewhat unnerving for the patient but she persevered and was consistent in taking the prescribed herbs. The brown discoloration on her skin is the topical herbal ointment. This picture is in October:

This patient suffered for several years with mild plaque psoriasis. Below is a picture of her neck in July before beginning herbal treatment both internally and externally.

Finally, in January, here is the result of consistency and perseverance. After 6 months of treatment, her neck is clear and healthy looking. There is only barely noticeable hypopigmentation left, that will clear with the continuation of the last phase of her treatment.
