Non-fiction book review: Dissolving Illusions
A comprehensive and alternative view of quite recent medical history. This is a red-pill, rabbit hole starter book for the uninitiated and initiated alike. Dissolving Illusions takes the reader through a reliving of the last couple hundred years of infectious disease history. The central thesis of the book is that most infectious disease was largely brought under control by traditional public health measures like clean water, sanitation, proper sewage as well as a host of policies and labor laws. Most of the infectious diseases, according to the authors, were approximately 90% down in infection rate by the time vaccines came around for them. But since, there is great money to be made in vaccines rather than actual public health measures like environmental protection and labor laws. So with the profit model of vaccines a potential goldmine, the narrative from the medical industry became that vaccines single-handedly defeated all infectious disease. The book then begs the question, ‘at what cost?’ Dissolving Illusions is an excellent and compelling read cover to cover. Well researched and well reasoned. A wholeheartedly recommend this title.
